CyberConnect2 has released a launch trailer for Asura’s Wrath, their upcoming third person action title based on Asian mythology (with a touch of science fiction), which is due for release in Europe on 24 February. Asura’s Wrath may appear to be a hack-and-slash title similar to the God Of War series – especially given the inclusion of a plot based on ancient mythology – however beneath the surface it promises to be different to the former Olympian deity.

The gameplay of Asura’s Wrath appears to be a blend of traditional combat with cinematic quick time events, attempting to merge the two in a way that has not been seen before. The launch trailer is fairly quiet in tone compared to those previously released by CyberConnect2 and Capcom, showcasing the more traditional combat elements rather than quick time events or sheer scale which has been shown before.

Asura’s Wrath will launch for Xbox 360 and PS3 on 21 February in Northern America and three days later in Europe.
