Only a few days after the launch of Sony’s new PlayStation Vita, Japanese customers have been having problems with the hardware. Customers have complained the device suffers from unresponsive touch-screens, crashes and freezing.

In response, Sony have posted a help page for its Japanese customers and have issued the following statement:

“Currently, our information centre regarding PlayStation Vita as well as our usual customer service centre are receiving many enquiries. We apologies if your phone isn’t connected straight away. Some issues regarding PlayStation Vita can be addressed by simple procedures at home.”

Sony have also issued a firmware update which is a mandatory installation should users want to continue using the console online. A few teething problems should be expected when a console first launches, hopefully the firmware will fix the issues and won’t effect the European launch. Reports suggest 300,000 Vitas were sold over two days.
